Pine Forest JROTC Awards Ceremony

On May 3rd, Post 230 Commander Mark Erskine was honored to attend Pine Forest High School and take part in their JROTC awards ceremony. The American Legion has multiple impactful programs and focusing on the JROTC excellence program is one of them.

The JROTC Excellence Program is where American Legion Post 230 will have the opportunity to award two different medals to JROTC participants inside of a High School. Those awards are the General Military Excellence Award and the Scholastic Excellence Award. These awards are given annually to outstanding cadets at each school for general military and scholastic excellence. The first school up for support this month was Pine Forest High School.

This year we had the following awardees from Pine Forest High School:

Cadet Pino received the Military Leadership Award from Post 230 Commander, Mark Erskine.

Cadet Donnan received the Scholastic Excellence Award from Post 230 Commander, Mark Erskine.

As with any students, they are only as successful as their leadership and we wanted to send a special thanks to JROTC instructors at Pine Forest High School for all the work they do each day. Shaping future leaders in our community and country is an important job.
