Fort Bragg Transition Summit
American Legion Post 230 took part in the Fort Bragg Transition Summit last week. The Summit featured key federal and state agencies, influential military leaders, innovators in the business and employer communities as well as local community leaders. The three day transition summit featured interactive and informative panel discussions, recruiter training and facilitated discussions focused on improving competitive employment for service members, veterans and military spouses. This event was also a great place to network with employers, military leaders, job seekers and culminated in a hiring fair.
American Legion Post 230 attended the event to inform Veterans, active-duty, and their spouses about the American Legion programs and how the American Legion can help them. This included details of the four pillars of the American Legion, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism and Children and Youth.
In total, we got to spread the word of the American Legion to over 50+ individuals that visited our booth. Many needed help with their VA disability claims process. This was yet another successful event for the post looking to inform the local military community on how we can support them and their families.
